Chelsea Lawrie’s love for events started early in Muskoka, Ontario, where she was just as excited to help with her parents’ catering gigs as she was to put on a fashion show in the living room.

 

That passion evolved into a career rooted in creativity, logistics, and unforgettable guest experiences. With a background in fashion arts and event production, Chelsea moved west and quickly became a driving force in Edmonton’s event scene. In 2014, she joined one of the city’s top event firms as Senior Event Manager, producing everything from large-scale corporate functions to intimate weddings.

 

Her ability to blend strategic planning with immersive, design-driven experiences earned her multiple industry awards, including “Most Outstanding Wedding Planner” in 2018. She also holds the prestigious Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation.

In 2020, Chelsea launched Ivory & Marnier, combining her love of fashion, colour and styling with her event expertise.

 

Now, with That Was Eventful, she’s bringing her signature spark to bold activations and stress-free planning support – helping planners and clients alike create events people can’t stop talking about.
