Creating the moments guests remember long after the event ends.
That Was Eventful is an experiential event company based in Edmonton, specializing in interactive activations, immersive guest experiences, and thoughtful event coordination for weddings, corporate events, and brand-driven celebrations.
The idea started with a simple observation from long-time event planner Chelsea Lawrie-Kanji: even beautifully designed events can feel flat if guests don’t have a reason to engage.
THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
After years of producing polished, picture-perfect events, Chelsea noticed a pattern.
Guests didn’t talk about the linens.
They didn’t remember the floor plan.
They remembered the moments that invited them to pause, play, and connect.
Whether it was a surprise candy bar, a hands-on flower station, or an unexpected interactive element, it was the immersive touches that stuck.
Those moments became the foundation for That Was Eventful.

For clients without a planner, we also offer full event coordination and planning support to take the stress off your plate while keeping the experience cohesive.
